Heidi Yoshioka ’89 has volunteered her time to Southwestern for over two decades. As a member of the Southwestern Alumni Association Board of Directors, she served as the president and also a four year term as a member of the Southwestern Board of Trustees. During her tenure as the President of the Alumni Association, Ms. Yoshioka served as a member of the Deans Search Committee that led to Southwestern hiring its first female dean, Susan Westerberg Prager.
Ms. Yoshioka is an accomplished trial attorney who focuses her practice on complex and high-exposure product liability, premises liability and general liability matters. For more than 25 years she has represented national and international clients in the automotive, vertical transportation, heavy machinery, highway transportation, food product, and hospitality industries. She currently defends the world’s largest communications company in matters of general liability and premises
Ms. Yoshioka strives to build and promote diversity in the legal profession through her involvement with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, Japanese American Bar Association and the Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers Alliance of Los Angeles. She is co-leader of Bowman and Brooke’s General Liability Group, co-chair of Bowman and Brooke’s Women’s Affinity Group and she is a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She has also served as an adjunct professor at the law school.
